Volunteer Tyler

Our program offers opportunities for volunteers to use their talents, skills and knowledge to assist the many departments throughout the City of Tyler to make our community a better place to live, work and visit.

Volunteer Tyler aids the City’s mission for full transparency in local government by providing citizens the opportunity to take part in departments’ daily activities and events. Volunteer efforts help the City’s staff to better respond to the needs of Tyler’s citizens and visitors, ensuring we are providing the most efficient and quality services to the entire community.

Who Can Volunteer?

Anyone age 12 years and up!

Once your application is received by Volunteer Tyler it will be reviewed for possible matches based on your experience and qualifications. The application process can be completed in two easy steps:

  2. Submit completed application (for 18+ include a copy of your government issued photo identification) to Volunteer Tyler by one of the methods listed below:

Please note that adult (18+) applications submitted without a copy of government issued photo identification will not be accepted. Background checks are conducted on all adult volunteer applicants.

*Effective November 5, 2018, ADULT applications will require a copy of a government issued photo identification to accompany the application.
