What is a Little Library?

A Little Free Library is a free book-sharing box where anyone may take a book or share a book. They function on the honor system. You do not need to share a book in order to take one. If you take a book or two from a little library, try to bring some to share to that same library, or another in your area, when you can.

In April 2021, Keep Tyler Beautiful coordinated with First Baptist Church of Tyler to build six new little library boxes and place them at City of Tyler parks.

Funds for the material and tools were also donated by FBC.

A total of 60 FBC volunteers built and installed the 3 ft. libraries at the following locations:

• City Park
• Emmett J. Scott Park
• Faulkner Park
• Hillside Park
• Pollard Park
• Southside Park

An additional Little Library was donated in 2025 at the following location:

• P.T. Cole Park
