Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

  1. Call meeting to order.
  2. Conduct a roll call, establish a quorum, and explain the rules of decorum.
  3. Discuss and consider minutes from the previous January 22, 2025, board meeting.
  4. Discuss and consider amendments to the Taylor Auditorium Use Policy.

  5. Request that the Library Advisory Board consider recommending that the City Council adopt an Ordinance amending Tyler City Code Chapter 9 by establishing facilities charges and rental fees for Taylor Auditorium.

  6. Share and Discuss the planning process for the Library Strategic Plan 2026 – 2031:

    1. Library Staff Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) Analysis
    2. Public Strategic Planning Survey
  7. Share information regarding the 2024 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award
  8. Adjourn
