Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

Chapters & Choices

Chapters and Choices, Genre-Based Book Club Last Saturday of the month 11 am in the Third-Floor Makerspace

 

On the last Saturday of each month in Taylor Auditorium from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Tyler Public Library hosts our Chapters & Choices book club. It's a book club all about choices, your choices specifically. Each month has a unique theme. Patrons pick a book that matches that theme and discuss the book and why they chose with others. No registration is required for this event. 

 

Chapter & Choices for 2026:

 January 31:  A Book focused on Self-Growth

 February 28: Historical Book (Fiction or Nonfiction)

 March 28: "The Book was better than the movie" 

 April 25: A book written/set in a country you'd like to visit

 May 30: A book you read to your kid (Or one you loved as a kid)

 June 27: A Western book 

 July 25: Biography/Autobiography or book that has a documentary as well

 Aug 29: A Book that includes recipes

 Sep 26: A Book that is a retelling or inspired by a classic story. 

 Oct 31: A Book that takes place in a holiday setting (Any Holiday!)
