Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

Chapters and Choices

A Genre-Based Book Club

Last Saturday: Previously called Books and Bites, Chapters and Choices is all the joy of a book club without the pressure of hunting down that specific book. Each month, you read a book based upon that month's theme (see below.) Then, you and other book lovers meet up on the last Saturday of the Month at 11 a.m. in the Taylor Auditorium to discuss what you read and hear what other readers have to offer.

Jan: Book with lessons to be learned or taught
Feb: Traveling Tales
Mar: Historical Fiction
Apr: Book that inspires you
May: Biography/Autobiography
June: Book that originated in another country
July: Any book that has been a Bestseller since 2000
Aug: Out to Sea (any book that takes place at/on the ocean)
Sep: Nonfiction
Oct: Pick the Same book and discuss it (to be chosen at August session)
