Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

Free Bulky Item Pick-Up Week for Tuesday/Friday customers

The City of Tyler Solid Waste Department and Keep Tyler Beautiful are sponsoring a FREE bulky item collection for City of Tyler residential customers (excluding multi-family home communities and businesses).

Those participating in this campaign with a Tuesday/Friday collection day should have bulky items on the curb by 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, and no sooner than 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13.

If your bulky items have not been collected by Monday, Oct. 23, please call the Solid Waste Office at (903) 531-1388 to place a work order.

After crews have collected on your street, do not place more bulky items on the curb. These items will be charged a special pickup fee.
