Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

Tyler Public Library celebrates Black History at Liberty Hall

The City of Tyler will celebrate Black History Month through a program presented by the Tyler Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at Liberty Hall.

 

The event will feature a presentation about a well-known Black historic neighborhood in the northside of Tyler, The Cut by Mr. Larry D. Wade Sr., and performances from Deborah Hammond and the Tyler High School Angelic Voices and Drumline. 

 

"Black History is our history," said Larry D. Wade Sr. "It is an integral part of the shaping of Tyler and it is important that we preserve this history for future generations."

 

The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to attend. Liberty Hall is located at 103 E. Erwin St. Doors open at 6 p.m.
