Support Library Programs

The Friends of the Tyler Public Library is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the Tyler Public Library by providing funds and programs that would not otherwise be possible. Learn more about the Friends and how you can support Library programs!

The Friends have been able to provide a variety of enhancements to the library including:

  • Enhanced children's story time activities & supplies
  • Special speakers & performers
  • 3D printer & supplies
  • Reading programs & prizes
  • Public copiers - includes free scan to USB service
  • Seed library upkeep
  • Programming supplies
  • And so much more!

The Paper Flower Botany Club

Makerspace Kit

For kids in K-5: Join the fictitious travels of library staff member Christopher and the Llama Department's Bernice as they travel Texas to find an idea for a Makerspace kit. This kit contains corn poppy seeds and information for children to learn the history of corn poppies and how to plant them. Each kit also includes instructions on how to make a paper corn poppy. Kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
